Todo comenzó como un juego.
En casa ya usábamos los aceites esenciales de manera habitual, diariamente. Los usamos para múchísimas cosas, como botiquín, a nivel emocional muchísimo pues son muy potentes, los nenes los tenían super integrados, pero oye, que siempre andaba preguntando a Olga, qué llevaba qué o para qué servía cual.. nunca me acordaba !
Veía a Olga enviar fichas con pequeñas recetas y usos de los aceites a mamis que empiezan y que, no nos vamos a engañar, hay muchísima información, es un mundo enorme !
Y así, con mis hijos nos picamos un día a preguntarnos cosas, qué llevaba RC, para qué servía la copaiba, cómo funciona la menta, porqué el hipotálamo, la serotonina, y si.. y si.. y si ¿eso lo tuvieramos mucho más accesible? y si lo tuvieramos todos mucho más a mano?
En esa época empezaba a leer sobre Angular 2 y Ionic 2, que son unos lenguajes de programación web que me empezaban a fascinar (google está detrás de ello) y como cabezón y tozudo que soy me reté a mi mismo. Tengo que aprenderlos y esto es una buena excusa. Iba a hacer una APP que sea útil para Olga y si es útil para Olga quizás lo sea para alguien más.
¿qué podía llevar esa APP? Lo primero fue mirar otras Apps sobre estos temas y encontré que todas se parecían mucho: listado de aceites, de recetas, cómo aplicarlas, anotaciones, etc.. y para mi eran muy aburridas. Hay que hacer algo diferente. Preguntas aleatorias, ¿una ruleta? (inicialmente no la había). Parece una idea genial. Juegas y aprendes, pero.. ¿siempre es lo mismo? y los demás usuarios, ¿no nos vemos?, así que pensamos en la opción de retarnos y al retarnos ganar puntos y clasificarnos.. yeah!, ahora ya, además de ser práctica, mola!
Hablando con un amigo sobre juegos, retos y demás comentó algo sobre logros.. ostras! que gran idea, los niveles de Young Living como logros a diferentes objetivos.
Miles de ideas surgían, ¿exceso de ylang-ylang? pero por algún sitio había que parar o no acabaríamos nunca.
La APP por ahora tiene:
- Práctica y aprendizaje con preguntas categorizadas
- Retos a otros usuarios. 3 tipos de retos diferentes
- 10 niveles de Logros de 4 tipos
- Listado de blogs referentes
- Información viva de recetas, aceites, artículos, que se pueden compartir por email o whatsapp
- Canales de video (según el idioma)
- Planes de compensación, para tenerlos siempre disponibles
- Clasificación en base a tu ciudad, provincia, país y total
- Gráficas de conocimiento por categorías
La lista de ideas y ampliaciones está en el cajón, para una segunda fase si se presenta. 😉
Y todo esto programando esta APP desde cero en un lenguaje novedoso y cambiante cada 2 meses (no es broma) desde Noviembre del 2017 hasta Junio 2018 con cerca de 390 horas de codificación (auditadas por wakatime.com) para fabricar una APP en Android e iOS para que sea útil a todos los que suelen usar aceites esenciales.
Pero claro.. hay que divertirse, así que toda la familia hicimos un video molón para acordarnos e inmortalizar el lanzamiento 😉

It all started as a game.
At home, we already used essential oils on a daily basis. We use them for very many things, as a kit, emotionally very much because they are very powerful, the kids had them super integrated, but hey, I was always asking Olga, what was what or what was served .. I never remembered !
I saw Olga send notes with small recipes and uses of oils to moms that start on it, we’re not going to cheat, there’s a lot information, it’s a huge world!
And so, with my children, we were stung one day to ask ourselves questions, what was RC, what was the copaiba, how does the mint work, why the hypothalamus, serotonin, and yes .. and yes .. and if that we had much more accessible? and if we had all much more at hand?
At that time I started reading about Angular 2 and Ionic 2, which are web programming languages that started to fascinate me (google is behind it) and how stubborn and stubborn I am I challenged myself. I have to learn them and this is a good excuse. I was going to do an APP that is useful for Olga and if it is useful for Olga, it might be useful for someone else.
What could that APP carry? The first thing was to look at other Apps on these topics and I found that they all looked a lot like: a list of oils, of recipes, how to apply them, annotations, etc … and for me they were very boring. You have to do something different. Random questions, a roulette? (initially there was not). It seems like a great idea. You play and you learn, but … is it always the same? and the other users, do not we see each other ?, so we thought about the option to challenge ourselves and to challenge us to win points and qualify .. yeah !, now, besides being practical, it’s cool!
Talking to a friend about games, challenges and others commented something about achievements .. oysters! What a great idea, Young Living levels as achievements to different objectives.
Thousands of ideas arose, excess of ylang-ylang? But somewhere we had to stop or we would never end.
The APP now has:
- Practice and learning with categorized questions
- Challenges to other users. 3 different types of challenges
- 10 levels of Achievements of 4 types
- List of referring blogs
- Live information of recipes, oils, articles, that can be shared by email or whatsapp
- Video channels (depending on the language)
- Compensation plans, to have them always available
- Classification based on your city, province, country and total
- Knowledge graphs by category
The list of ideas and extensions is in the drawer, for a second phase if it is presented. 😉
And all this programming this APP from scratch in a new language and changing every 2 months (no kidding) from November 2017 to June 2018 with about 390 hours of coding (audited by wakatime) to build an APP in Android and iOS for that is useful to all those who usually use essential oils.
But of course … we have to have fun, so the whole family made a cool video to remember and immortalize the launch 😉
